I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Minnesota who works with older adolescents and adults. I have over 25 years of behavioral health experience and will provide knowledgeable and effective care. I will provide you with practical coping strategies to improve daily functioning along with methods of healing unresolved issues and past traumatic experiences. I am kind and solution-minded with a warm, calming presence and a good sense of humor! I especially enjoy working with people who have experienced recent or past trauma, chronic pain, relationship and sexual health issues, phobias, shyness/low self-esteem, and performance issues (sports, academic, professional, etc.).

I’ve been around a long time :). I have extensive experience working with a wide range of symptoms and diagnoses and have treated persons ranging in age from six to ninety-eight. At this point in my career, I feel confident in my ability to help you with nearly any mental health or life challenge that comes your way. I am a genuinely kind and caring person who is able to see the strengths in people and build on those to help you achieve a better life. I am fascinated and truly amazed at the way that people can heal and move beyond even the worst experiences to a more positive and hopeful future. Your healing is my priority and I will be fully invested in your growth.

How I Work

I like to spend some initial time hearing what you want out of therapy and helping to prioritize and develop our “to do” list. I feel it is important for you to understand why you feel the way you do and that you do not have to be miserable for the rest of your life. I will help you to let go of the past, increase motivation to get things done, problem-solve issues, resolve conflicts, reduce unhealthy habits, and develop happy, healthy relationships. I generally utilize aspects of EMDR, ART, parts work, DBT, and basic CBT strategies that are catered to your individual needs.
